Background
Tapioca is an everyday product. Easy to use, easy to overlook. But when packaged correctly, it can feel like something much more. Oba wanted to give its tapioca a distinct identity that exudes joy, character, and tradition—without becoming nostalgic or stereotypical.
The Task
We were tasked with creating packaging that stands out, feels warm, and is built on something authentic. Something that makes the product more personal, more proud, and more present in the kitchen.
The Solution
We drew inspiration from folk storytelling traditions and visual symbols linked to the simple, the handmade, and the vibrant. The design is based on wood-inspired illustrations and bold color blocks. Every detail, from typography to decorative motifs, is hand-drawn to convey the right feeling—a blend of tradition and energy.
Oba did not become a pastel food brand. It became something with personality. Something you not only use but also enjoy having on display.
Results
Tapioca Oba has received packaging that sparks curiosity, feels reassuring, and simultaneously offers something new. Proof that even the simplest thing can become something people pause to notice—if you dare to go all the way in its expression.
